Hi there! My husband is currently interviewing for a job in Pleasant Prairie...where would you suggest we look to live? We would want to stay under 200k and would love to live where there are lots of trees! We have 3 kids under 10 so it would need to be family friendly in terms of things available for us to do....also - we are not overly concerned about school districts as we homeschool so that issue would mainly be for resale value but not priority.

Plus, what do ya'll love about living in this area? Better yet, tell me what we would LOVE about coming to your Badger State!

Thanks, DSmall

As far as I remember, anywhere in Kenosha County works. All the towns are pretty nice. Kenosha's more urban and west of the interstate is a little more rural. Under 200 shouldn't be a problem, my parents recently moved to a house in Paddock lake for 180 and it's really nice. I miss that about Wisconsin, out here in New York you couldn't buy a closet for $180000.
When I left they had just started on this subdivision Bristol Bay on highway 45, they have townhomes and condos and they were very good looking! Was talking to my mom the other day and she mentioned that the developer went under, so some investor or something bought them all up and they can be had for fairly cheap now.

No. Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha share a school district (KUSD), but none of the three main high schools are actually in Pleasant Prairie. Tremper is close (about 3 blocks from the border), but Indian Trail and Bradford are both well within the City of Kenosha.

Pleasant Prairie was the basis for Point Place on That 70s Show, whose creators grew up in Kenosha County... true story!
