I am taking an informal survey to gather words that evoke the Milwaukee experience - the positive things that come to mind when you think of Milwaukee. Landmarks, events and the like. (All cities have negative images, but I am just looking for the positive.)

Thank you!

Bubbler (water drinking fountain).

Neighborhoods.

Sherman Park.

Lake Michigan.

House parties with $1 entrance fees, located in the basements 9 times out of 10, with the person throwing the party paying a DJ to spin the records and "scratch" etc. (back in the 1980's - I don't think this occurs on the North side any more with frequency).

Block parties (again, largely a thing of the 1980's of my youth, I rarely see them any more).

Though I never trained in it: Kempo-Goju (a Milwaukee native creation - a former black Vietnam vet I believe).

The Milwaukee bungalow.

Blue-collar.

Parks.

The four season.

Democrats (not sure that's good - I dislike both parties).

Cadillacs and car washes.

The Catholic Church (which I was raised in).

Midnight Mass.

Running on snow hills as a child - and playing football or just throwing football passes in the thick snow as a child.
