Does anyone know of a nice/safe FURNISHED short term lease apartment around Milwaukee?

We are most probably going to spend one or two months in an apartment (2 bedrooms) until we find/buy a house in the Milwaukee suburbs.

I will be working in downtown so I would like the commute to be no more than 10-15 minutes.

Also, does anyone recommend an accredited childcare facility around the same area mentioned above?

Thanks for the help!

Sorry but can you tell me a place in Shorewood where you could live that is NOT walkable? I cannot think of any unless maybe along Wilson Drive somewhere. But even then that areas is walkable, just not convenient enough for a quick walk to the store.

The Waukesha School District is pretty cool as i go to one of the three high schools. In fact Waukesha West & Arrowhead are some of the best in the the state of Wisconsin. They're very friendly and so are some of the elementary schools. Not so much for the middle schools though. Waukesha is pretty walkable in most areas, has got a lot of history to it as it's very close to Carroll University which opened in the later 1800's, and is along the Fox River. They got a fairly cool YMCA and a Golds Gym in the area. With shopping there are many areas including some places along Sunset Drive & Moreland Boulevard. The only problem it's west of Milwaukee but not very far west.

PS: Famous guitar player Les Paul was born here in Waukesha

If you're looking for accurate data on the various school districts, rather than relying on anecdotal articles, you can look at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction site. Welcome to WINSS! | Continuous School Improvement (WINSS) The data analysis and performance report card links probably have the information for which you are looking.

Depends on what you consider "walkable". To me, the whole north western corner of Shorewood is not very walkable. Same goes towards some parts near Lake Drive.
