Hello everyone,

Someone on my Facebook page posted a picture of their Hup's pizza. I just had to try it. It was amazing. I've been there several times. I don't want any other pizza.

Now, I've been thinking...are there any other restaurants that I need to try? Any suggestions.

Thank you.

You've been there? I thought they only did delivery? But the pizza is excellent.
Try Zaffiros on Farwell Ave also.

How about Apollo on Brady St for Greek? Excellent Gyros etc.,

Hup's Pizza, no kidding. I drive by there and never would have even thought to try it. It's at 54th & Hampton for those who are not familiar with it.

Never heard of it but I am always willing to try new pizza. Any ever have NYPD? I highly recommend Times Square Pizza in Walker's Point.

I am thinking about trying NYPD - every time I go past it, it looks clean. Never had Times Square either, is that near the McDonalds on First street?

Yeah, it's located right next to Martha's Vineyard and the Mobil Station.

I just had to reply. I've lived in Milwaukee all of my life. I've driven past Hup's, but I really thought nothing of it. I saw a couple of picture on my Fb page, and I'm hooked. If you go, call in first. They don't have anywhere to sit and wait for your order. Also, they only take cash, don't always deliver, and have thin crust only. It's amazing.

Now, I'm going to have to try Apollo. I love gyro's.

I've never tried NYPD. I've seen their truck with their advertisements. I hope that someone will reply to this post with what they think about it.

Any other suggestions?

Hup's has been on my list of "must try" places for several years, but there's no seating there, and I hate to eat cold, soggy pizza.

My favorite pizza in Milwaukee so far has been Zaffiro's (actually, the Mequon location is better, I think, than the East Side place) and, even more so, Transfer (I love thin pizza, but their regular-dough pizza is chewy and done right).

There are a lot of little places tucked away that don't get much publicity, or at least not as much as the trendy places. Jo's Café on Silver Spring Ave. does a great breakfast. Zak's Café in Walkers Point also does good breakfasts.

The Thai restaurant near 92nd and Brown Deer Rd. is very good. India Café (in the same gas station plaza as Times Square Pizza) is very good, as is Bombay Sweets on the south side.

My favorite taquería is El Cabrito on S. 11th, two blocks or so south of National Ave. Lopez Bakery has excellent tamales.

Speed Queen BBQ and Ashley's BBQ, both on the north side, are very good. Ashley's also has a very nice restaurant in Walkers Point; the food is good and the prices are reasonable.

Champion Chicken on W Lisbon Ave. (near Tosa) has great broasted chicken, and it's inexpensive.

One of my favorite café-bakeries is Amaranth, on Lisbon Ave. a couple of blocks east of 35th. Great pastries, cookies, soups, and sandwiches.

I think their pizza is okay, but the calzones are awesome.

Anyhoo, as far as other great pizza goes, try:

Rustico
Classic Slice
Falbo Bros
Via
Pizza Man
Calderone Club
