But Atlanta is like 10 times bigger than Milwaukee. Let's be frank here. Of course it's gonna have more murders.

Good for Milwaukee though if the murder rates drop. The new police chief is already working wonders. And it's just the tip of the iceberg for him. He's exactly what the city needed.

The city of Atlanta has a smaller population than Milwaukee

2007 Population estimates

Milwaukee - 602,000
Atlanta - 519,000

How do you figure Atlanta is ten times bigger? We are talking about the city proper, not the metro area.

Actually, the City of Milwaukee (pop. 602,191) is larger than the City of Atlanta (pop. 519,145). Atlanta's metropolitan area is roughly 3 times as large as Greater Milwaukee, but these rankings don't take suburban areas into account.

Atlanta metro is bigger, the city of Atlanta itself is smaller in population. Atlanta the city had more murders than Milwaukee last year and Milwaukee(city) has a higher population.

Okay my bad I was talking about the metro areas. But still with a metro area the size of Atlanta vs one the size of Milwaukee, of course the city proper of Atlanta will have more murders. That's a no-brainer. Those stats are very misleading.

Why is it misleading? Are you assuming it's because there are more potential victims, or is it because more people from the suburbs are committing those murders? I think either of those reasonings are pretty specious.

Are you honestly debating this? C'mon now. You obviously haven't been to Atlanta. The area is much more populated and the city proper has a ton more traffic of people in general...people from the city proper, from the suburbs, people vacationing, people passing thru, etc. It's not rocket science.

It truly is and I don't care what you say.
The summers are terrible , the hotter it gets
the more killings happen in our inner city.
They will shoot one a night sometimes .

Milwaukee has been a very violent city for a while. Last year Milwaukee's number of muders dropped to 71. For a city of 600,000 people, that is actually much better than it has been at 575,000 people.
