Any monetary settlement the woman receives should come directly from the pension fund of the police department. When current officers see that their future benefits will be cut to pay for the lawsuit, and retired officers see their benefits cut to pay for the misconduct of a few bad officers, they'll move to weed out the problem offenders. Don't take it out of the operating budget, don't raise taxes in the community or pay to cover an insurance premium increase.

I remember seeing that guy at the airport before. And he's going for permanent disability due to the minor injuries sustained in the crash he caused (and allegedly lied about).

What's especially alarming for anyone passing through Milwaukee County, is that the woman who was injured as a result of the accident the deputy caused, was blamed for the entire thing because she was honest, in spite of what appears to be a total dearth of evidence suggesting that she caused the crash. MCSO patrols the airport, the lakefront, county parks, the county grounds, and all of the highways, probably some other areas.

In the end, the taxpayers will probably end up footing the bill for the crash, the medical bills, and the deputy's long term disability.
