I'm 19 years old and I live in brookfield. I spend way too much time at home, and I never really get out at all because i don't have any friends to go out with.
I don't mean to complain about my life, but I never had any friends in highschool so i never really got out at all. But I'm out of highschool now and I'm in college but I still don't have any friends to hang out with at all. I'm wondering, are there any places in Milwaukee where 19 years hang out at? or where I can go to meet 19 year olds and make some friends?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Best place to make friends is through clubs, groups, or organizations. I'd look at clubs at the college you go to first. Young adult church groups or college faith groups are also a great place to make friends around your age.

I've always found the phrase "be interested & be interesting" to be the best way to make friends. Like another poster mentioned, get involved in something that you like, want to learn or just something random. There are many clubs & organizations around the Milwaukee metro... they may not be large but they have groups of people of all ages doing something they're passionate about.

Find what you're passionate about & you'll find some people that'll make great friends for you.

I grew up a lot like you. I graduated from high school barely 16 years old, so I was always in a different category as everyone else.

What worked for me is to find your interests, your passions--and then pursue them. What you'll eventually find through your journey is that there are others like yourself with the same passions. And then you'll have a group to hang with for a particular passion. You'll find different groups for your different passions and then a small circle that you bump into at all of them--those will become your close friends. And then you'll be so busy socially you'll wonder what it was like to be at home alone anymore.

well I checked the clubs and groups for my college in Milwaukee but I found nothing interesting. They barely have any to begin with. My interest are horror movies and video games and doing stuff for YouTube. Doesn't seem like there's many people into that stuff in Wisconsin.

Meetup.com may be worth checking out. I've never looked into the Milwaukee area meetups, because I have family & others I know here, but I used the site when I lived in the Seattle area. I had some fun at the events & met a lot of people who were in a similar sitution as myself (new to the area & were looking for socialization in the "Seattle freeze" area.)
