How is the traffic to and from the airport doing since the 894 ramp is closed? I heard on Mark Beling that Greenfield is a parking lot at rush hour. Anybody have any experience? We need to go to the airport on Good Friday, coming FROM 94 Eastbound, wanting to turn south on 894, which we can't do, right? What's the best route? And on the way back?
Thanks!

I would take the Hoan Bridge (794) south & get off on Layton Ave. Airport is on your left, you'd be turning left onto Howell to access the airport. That's the way I always take, I never take the freeway there.

That depends on what time of day. In the middle of the day just use 94 and go through the city and then take either 94 south to the airport or 794 south to Layton Avenue. (794 is also under construction.)

If this is during the rush hours morning or afternoon you could exit the 94 at Moorland Rd south, then when you get to the 43, go east (signs probably say north--don't remember), then reconnect to 894 in Hales Corners, and you'll be back where you should have been if you just took the 894. You should probably check live traffic on your phone and decide how it's going on that day, if you can do that. The whole interchange project at 94/894/45 is frustrating. Stay away from Greenfield Avenue.

Thanks a bunch 43 north! I'll do one of those. I don't really want to go all the way east to 794. Luckily it's not rush hour.

Can't I get on Hwy 100 south from 94? That's open, right?

And, actually we're using that Wally parking place, and according to their map, they're on the corner of Layton and 38.
So, 94 to 100 to Layton to 38. Smart?

That would work fine, but it just takes some time. In the middle of the day you could cut back from 100 to the 894 on Greenfield, which won't have much traffic at that time. Then exit at 27th and go east on Layton, turn right on Howell (38) and turn right into Wally Park. Or you could continue on 894 all the way to the airport freeway, then take the Howell Ave exit, turn left, and go back to Wally Park that way.

The advantage to staying off of the surface streets is that they are so full of potholes and bumps.

Also FWIW my location says Arizona but I have a house in Milwaukee and fly back and forth every week or 2. Flew to Phoenix yesterday, flying back tonight for meetings tomorrow and Friday... so I am very familiar with the airport and surrounding area.
