If anyone has tips on camps or classes for kids, esp around Shorewood/WFB/UES, please let me know. We will be new to the area and want to make sure the kids get engaged quickly. Four kids 8 and under.

Baseball leagues

Tennis, soccer, swimming, sailing, lacrosse, chess, lego, basketball, etc.

What do people like to do in July and August?

Thanks.

You may want to go to the Lydell Community Center for WFB for more info, or look (and sign-up) at the recreation guide on-line.

UW-Milwaukee has great summer programs as well..

I just want to add, the metro area does a really good job of providing adult and youth recreation activities, so there will be no shortage of things to do in the summer.

Milwaukee Community Sailing Center is the only game in town for sailing at age 8. You have to go downtown. The minimum age is 8 for their park program and 12 for the main youth programs. Even though you didn't ask about adults, for adult sailors of any skill level, MCSC is one of the best operations in the nation.

Milwaukee Yacht Club, my former club, also has youth programs starting at age 13. Maybe they have expanded. Otherwise as far as I know, the only sailing programs for young kids are in the Lake Country on inland lakes.
