Hey all. I just bought a house in Riverwest. It's a block of Center on Pierce Street. I'm originally from Milwaukee and currently live on the Eastside. I love the house and it was a good deal. I would love to hear from people that know the neighborhood well that can offer some insight. The neighborhood seems vibrant and mostly safe, but I don't know for sure. It was an impulsive purchase.

I'm confused. You're from here, you live on the east side & you're asking how the riverwest area is where you bought a house? How can you not know, the east side is basically next door to riverwest. The area is fine.

Lol, I'm sorry, that was harsh. I just don't get how you wouldn't know how an area is that you live near....and bought a house in!

It's luscious.

And vibrant!

And, it's close enough to the 'hood that you won't lose touch with modern urban culture. And the crime rate is just high enough that you'll never forget to lock your doors or look behind you when you're walking home late at night, but not high enough so you are tempted to move back to the safer "Eastside". So there's always that.

Riverwest is too unpredictable...a history of too much random crime. I'm not sure why so many seemed to be lulled into thinking this is a vibrant area. Look into the history of just the last ten years. Just too many red flags. Maybe a reason your house was a good deal?
