Hello everyone,

I drove past where Mama Mia's used to be on Silver Spring, and the building is gone. I do know that they closed a while ago. Does anyone know what it will be replaced with? I can't imagine what could go there now.

Thank you.

I heard that one closed years ago, well they are still on South 84th Street and in Mequon as well.

The one I used to work at, on N. 77th and Burleigh, closed a couple of years ago as well. I am a huge fan of the one on S. 85th Street and W. Greenfield Avenue!

Have family (dad's side 0 in Milwaukee but we never ate at Mama Mia. Saw on the Roadfood Forum that Karl Rausch's German Restaurant has closed.Never got to eat there or Mader's in all the years we would sometimes go to Milwaukee.

I just have to echo Master Jay's recommendation of the Mama Mia's location on 85th and Greenfield Ave.; that has always been the most delicious/authentically Milwaukee dining experience of the Mama Mia's variety anyway.

If I remember correctly, I had always thought that the Silver Spring neighborhood location Mama Mia's was not directly a part of the Milwaukee-famous Mama Mia's area "chain" anyway. They had a slightly unique name which differentiated it from the core Mama Mia's restaurants and it was widely agreed that it was not as good as the one on Greenfield Ave.
