You won't find many fancy boutiques in Madison, either: a lot of educated people think that fashion is frivolous and superficial. But maybe you look good in a Bucky Badger Sweatshirt.

And, just yesterday you were still looking in Milwaukee. A new job in just one day, over the week-end? Believable, for sure.

Good luck to you! The Madison area is very nice, but you'll still have to work to meet interesting, single, middle-aged men there. Worth a try, though.

I prefer Madison, but housing is not less expensive.

My son is a student at the University of Wisconsin. I pay his rent and trust me it is not cheaper than Milwaukee. Also, walk around Madison. It really is not much cleaner than Milwaukee. I see plenty of beer cans and trash around town. Madison has 50,000 students, some of which are inmature and litter. The homeless problem is more visible in Madison. Go near the Capitol or around State St. especially near the Capitol. It's much worse than Milwaukee.

As far as fashion and fine dining. C'mon now, is this a joke or what. I love Madison, but it really is an overgrown college town.

My advice is catch the first train, plane, car or whatever out of Wisconsin as quick as possible. This place is not for you.
