This convention will be better for Wisconsin's economy than Foxconn.

I plan to rent my house out and make $$$. It will be more than enough to pay for a week-long vacation for four.

I am excited for this, even though I detest the new socialist democrat party. This will be great for the city, I think it's a great move politically for the Democrats as well. I actually cannot believe we got it, a lot of time conventions go to the more attractive city IE Vegas or Miami and not Cleveland or Milwaukee. Now we just gotta assign a team to keep Bill Clinton out of all the Milwaukee Strip clubs or who knows maybe Bill will have his own Lolita Yacht on Lake Michigan.

You can see the media gushing all over this story and their excitement comes through their reporting, do you really think the media would be this excited if the RNC was in town and they all had to cover it.

I hope Clinton shows up, I’d like to see him. And cool that the media is gushing over it, makes me smile at all the bitter tears on the right.

I think part of it is that the politico Dems seem younger, more racially/ethnically/religiously diverse, more balanced between women and men, and more explicitly pro-urban. The media can have a lot of fun and even commercial success with these demographics in a place like Milwaukee. A lot of us would be happy to see the GOP convention here, too, but the image of the Republicans continues to be middle-aged/older white rich christian men who prefer suburbs and rural areas. It just doesn't make for exciting and flashy media coverage.
