I think like a lot of people not from the Midwest Milwaukee is a little bit of a blank page. You tend to think of beer , Harley Davidson and Happy Days / Lavern and Shirley. I have been checking out Milwaukee and you guys have a pretty neat looking city with a lot to do ! I want to get up that way now and see the city and the state . Not to be too serious but did the show Happy Days make Milwaukee seem overly bland ? I watched it a lot like other kids but it did seem to make you think about Milwaukee in a certain way. Contrast that with the Mary Tyler Moore Show that to a degree made Minneapolis seem like the cool town to live in. Just curious if I am off base or not. In any case it looks like a great town and I hope to get there soon !

Maybe if you're 50+. I've never seen Happy Days or Laverne & Shirley. The only people I know who own a Harley are either retired or near retirement.

Before I moved here I thought it was a dying Rustbelt city overrun with grit and crime. Once I gave the city a chance I was hooked. I love it here.

That 70s Show is probably more relevant.

Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days ran in the 70’s. If someone still has that idea of a city 40 plus years later, there’s something wrong with them.

Miller Park looks fantastic ! I am not as much a baseball fan as I used to be but I could see spending a lot of time there. My favorite sport is college football. I live not too far from Clemson University. Is there a lot of carpooling to Madison on Saturdays in the fall for Wisconsin games ? Going up to Green Bay on Sundays has to be a lot of fun ! Buck's games look good too.

Miller Park was obsolete as soon as it opened.

Some years ago I worked for several months in Philadelphia. On Fridays one of the local guys I worked with would bring in a box of soft pretzels that you would pull apart to separate them. That's one of the things I miss most about Philly. Are soft pretzels a big deal there too?

Well they both had decade long runs 70s 80s. Both retro shows back to the 50s era.

Laverne & Shirley into iconic theme song and opening intro. CLEARLY A BUILDING WITH MILWAUKEE ON IT IS ĪN THE OPENING. Versions changed a bit over the decade run.

Intro to "Happy Days" iconic theme song. As years changed and characters got older.... versions kept the same theme song every year but cast pictures changed.

Sad you never saw one episode of shows that were unique and never duplicated......

I'm not that old, but I do remember both of those shows.
Partly because of reruns, but I'm sure I saw some of the later first runs. I'd say they were positive for the city.
