Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if you are aware that Powerball & Megamillion will start selling in just about every state on January 31st. Now, this is a good thing for those that can drive across the boarder to play each game.

Unfortunately, it looks like the jackpots will not reach the 300 million dollar mark, because you will have more people playing each lottery. We will most likely see more jackpots in the 100 million to 150 million dollar range. I'm not complaining about this.

I've also found that starting in December or early 2011, we will have a national lottery. This lottery could reach to upwards of 500 million dollars.

I just wanted to know how you all feel about this?

Thank you in advance.

Dee

Doesn't bother me, I wish sports betting was legal so people didn't have to use bookies or online bookies and deal with bank accounts. I am for all kinds of gambling, I love to gamble. Just a couple of months ago I stopped by potto b/c I had 3 dollars in my pocket and I dropped it in a wheel of fortune slot and won 40 bucks then I won 1,400 in about 3 more pushes of the button. Not a bad days of work!

Doesn't really bother me, I don't gamble except for the occasional horse race (then I really splurge and throw down $2 bets). It also doesn't matter to me how big the jackpot gets, it's more about how many people are playing, because that's how you reap the benefits of holding the lottery.

How many days do you have the go the other way??
I also enjoy talking with people that go to Indian casino's. They love to talk about winning days but never talk about days where they lose their ass.

On the other hand, I would rather see people voluntarily giving the indians their $ rather than tax $.

As to original question - no real opinion one way or the other - don't buy.

Over my life time at all Casinos I am up. One year I went to potto maybe 10 times and I won every single time I went their. I rarely go to casinos, sometimes I go for the food or I go with friends and just play 25 on the passline on craps and win and I stop. They key is to know when to fold them. I stopped at the green bay casino on my work break and won 57 dollars and walked right out of the casino. Last year I went to Reno and the first slot I played I won 90 then I walked away and hit more slot by the stairs and I won 400$ and after that I stopped gambling. I was their a whole week and nearly won 500$ on the first day. It was tough staying at a casino and not gambling but I did however just pay for my whole trip and more.

Good for you - I think you are a rarity. You are right to walk away when you are in the green. Most cannot do that.

I do the same thing with day trading to capture daily market swings both up and down. My daily goal is modest ($150-200/day). Most days are successful but not always. When goal is made though, I walk away. It makes a big pyschological difference to consistently win (even small amounts)
