Old thread, but I recently got a job offer at Kohls HQ as a statistician and was wondering if other people had thoughts on working at Kohls HQ.

Have heard the same identical thing from everyone I know who's worked there over the years:

1. Long salaried hours
2. Very strict, dry environment
3. Inflexible
4. Low pay, considering the hours

They pull the above out by recruiting young (out of college) and indoctrinating them into the corporate way. I don't think they could maintain business as usual with a large % of transfers from other companies.

Also: I don't know a single person who worked there and stayed for more than a few years, before getting another job that 1. Had normal hours, 2. had a far more enjoyable environment, 3. would bend when necessary, and 4. paid a HELL of a lot more. Some must move up and decide to stay or something, I guess...

That said, it's a large employer in the area, and I like to see them do well. Unfortunately, have not heard anything good about working at the corporate office.

I worked in the Marketing department there once upon a time. They work you hard, but the benefits are good.
