So you're saying that liberals aren't responsible for a disproportionate amount of spending overall? Just take a look at HHS and then give me your answer. Please don't cite the war as an example of conservative spending, either. If Obama would have stuck with his campaign promises, we wouldn't be at war at all. (Btw, I voted for Obama, in part for that reason, but was bamboozled like the rest of the American people. I've since learned that you can't believe what comes out of their mouths, you have to look at their record and infer their future actions. I'm young (26) and have learned my lesson when it comes to deciding which circle to darken on a ballot sheet.)

But I digress, as usual.

Because the last two years just did us so much good, right?

Looks that way. Republicans want to accomplish three things:

1.) Keep the Bush tax cuts

2.) Keep Obama from getting re-elected

3.) Repeal ObamaCare

That's it.

Nope, not saying that at all. Both parties spend too much and both parties need to fix the mess we're in. Cutting taxes isn't going to help reduce the national debt or spur on the economy. Personally, I find it insulting that conservatives want to give people on Wall Street a tax break when they just gave themselves almost $150 billion dollars in bonuses.

We need to raise taxes, cut military spending in half, address Social Security and Medicare, and cut the size of government. That's for starters.

This country is 50 trillion dollars in the hole and if tough choices aren't made very very soon, then we will become a banana republic.

That is about the size of it. Personally, I do not like what the Republicans want to do for the most part.

Better by far than the 8 Bush years. Stock Market is up 40% since Dubya left office. Economy and job market light years ahead of the 750K jobs lost in the final months of the Dubay Bush "presidency".

He promised to work towards ending the war not stopping immediately. He fulfilled most of that promise.

Illinois would welcome a Talgo manufacturing facility and the jobs.
One question: posters mention train travel being subsidized, isn't highway travel subsidized as well? Most roadways are paid for by government, not private funding.
Is there a projected ridership number for this line?
