Crime:Every metro and pretty much every area will have crime of some sort. Plus is the area around 38th and Cedar the only area in the Twin Cities that has crime?
Old houses:not a negative unless their decrepit or full of mold or something. Old houses can be very cool and full of character, plus Minneapolis is full of old buildings and brownstones, not just that one area, der.
Small yards: Depends on the person, as a single person I wouldn't need a big yard at all and it would be less for me to mow, water, etc. Though if you have a family or kids that love to play outside then small yards would be a negative. Plus is the area around 38th and Cedar the only area in the Twin Cities that has small yards?
Houses close together:Ever seen houses in San Francisco?

Grid Streets:How is this a negative?
Traffic:Name a major metro area that doesn't have traffic.
Blight: Lol I suppose, but again, are you saying the area around 38th and cedar is the only place with blight?

Right, because people from the suburbs never travel into the city . The city people seem to have a lot of opinions on the suburbs but I guess the reverse can't be true??

Your opinions come from the safe protective bubble of your upper-middle class suburban lifestyle. Traveling through and actually living there are vastly different.

I don't think anybody yet has mentioned my favorite thing about that area: POWDERHORN!!! Easily one of our best parks.

Oh, and the Lucys are better at 5-8 Club, imho (and at The Nook/Shamrocks, for that matter....)

Wow. Since when are all suburbanites upper middle class? Or even middle class? It seems your observation works both ways.

I'm pretty sure that comment wasn't generalizing the entire suburban population but was directly targeted at Golfgal.
