I really like the various swimming feature, pier, northern gardens, and some of the other ideas. It's nice to dream...but knowing how hard some neighborhoods fight for very basic park infrastructure/maintenance from city/MPRB resources, I'm not too optimistic that any of these ideas have a chance of coming to fruition in the near future. But the city should have perhaps taken a look at these mockups before intalling expensive water fountains throughout (well, through much of) the city, and some of the ideas here not only would be a huge amenity to residents throughout the city, they could potentially have an impact on local tourism.

I think the river in general and areas that surround it are pretty vastly underutilized as is considering their central location in a very large urban environment- sure there are a lot of great park/trail areas throughout- st. anthony bridge, North Mississippi Regional, Boom Island, Mills Ruins, and st anthony main area are great places to go and relax/visit, but I feel like there aren't really big ticket items that really draw people to the water's edge, some areas just feel inaccessible, and nothing really unifies the riverbank areas as a whole (well, outside of some river parkways/trails).

What about St. Paul, we could use some new development along the Mississippi also?
