Nope, you don't need 4x4, though it may be handy, no one needs it.

Can you cite any data to support that? I'd say maybe 5-10% of the people I know have a 4X4 vehicle.

I believe I found what I want, though i'm test driving a couple more this weekend. I found a 2009 Ford Flex awd that I pretty much fell in love with. It's about as close to perfect as it gets for me. Large but still not too big, and decent mileage.

I only have one friend up there who has a 4x4 or AWD vehicle (he has a Subaru Outback), but he also has a cabin that is only accessible via dirt roads that he spends every summer weekend visiting (and much of the rest of the year as well). It isn't because of the Twin Cities that he has the vehicle.

hes not saying that, but there are lots and lots and lots of people that don't have them, including me and my entire family and all my relatives and everyone I know from school and work and such. Do you have any statistics to show just about everybody has them? Even if 99% of people had a GPS, does that mean you need one to not get lost?

The guy that plows the parking lot at 4a.m. with his four wheel drive so no one will get stuck in it.
Nice of him right?
