I moved here a few years ago and have yet to find a good place to eat real Mexican food. I am constantly trying places that I read good reviews about only to be disappointed. I have tried Salsa a la salsa, Pepitos, La Casita, La Poblanito, Adelitas, and about 20 others. Please help

I think Baja Sol is pretty good. IMO. Have you tried that?

Can't beat El Burrito Mercado on St Paul's West Side. The food is authentic, varied and delicious. My only complaint is that they serve cafeteria style, no table service.

Have you eaten at Taqueria La Hacienda on E Lake St and 4th Ave yet? I haven't eaten at some of the places you mentioned but I agree with your assessment of Pepitos...very unauthentic and subpar. If you're talking about La Poblanita on E Lake St it is no more. I think that place closed a while ago.

They have table service in the area next door to the walk-up counter.

Pepito's I thought was terrible. Service, food, everything. I have friends who love it, and always want to go there, unfortunately.

I REALLY like Acapulco's in Coon Rapids & Ramsey. Not extremely close to the cities, but the 35 minute drive is worth the AMAZING food.

Oh, I forgot to mention Ol' Mexico in Roseville- off of Lexington I believe. Great atmosphere there as well.

Based on your name that would make sense. Acapulco = 100% Tex-mex

No mention of LA Cucaracha Restaurante?
36 Dale Street South
Saint Paul

It's a long established Dale Street fixture. Food quality has always been variable - about 3 times out of 4 it's great, the other makes you wish you'd gone somewhere else... but that's what makes it authentic!

Boca Chica is one of the best in town, in District Del Sol on St. Paul's West Side...

Boca Chica Mexican Restaurant - Minneapolis/St. Paul's historic family owned Mexican restaurant
