Hopefully someone is up as late as I cause I need to know this answer soon. Tomorrow at 5pm I need to get on a bus that will be at 3rd st s and chicago ave and I am leaving my great little town of Glencoe which is west of the cities (google maps says the trip will take about an hour and is a 55 mile trip) at 330pm. I am just wondering if this is possible. I do not drive in the cities and was recently told that rush hour starts early on Fridays but I'm hoping since I will be entering the cities it won't be as bad?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

MEGABUS!!! I think you should probably be alright, but I don't know for certain. Part of my thinking there is that I don't think Megabus (judging by how many people I see standing outside waiting for it there, not personal experience) is a "leaves at 5:OO o'clock on the nose" type of thing.

If it is indeed megabus, they leave on the nose (assuming they are on-time of course, which is not a guarantee with them). The ticket says to get there 15 minutes ahead of time, so it's always fun to see the the people who got there right at the time that the bus leaves...flailing their arms as if they acted like a lunatic it would make the bus turn around and come get them....nope.

My almost-step-daughter took a bus from Mpls to Andover and back the other day. It didn't break her.
