Any thoughts, opinions? I searched some older threads but wanted some current thoughts. I know it's a western suburb do you think the commute to Burnsville would be to far? Seems like a really nice, small town and the schools seem great.

I live in and really like the western suburbs, but I would not want to commute to Burnsville from Delano. Google Maps say 48-52 minutes without traffic, with normal traffic or snow the commute would get ridiculous. I would pick a southern suburb if moving for a job in Burnsville.

Thanks for your reply. Right now we are in Socal and my husband has a commute time of 1.5 in traffic so I guess it's an upgrade in way We wanted a smaller town with a country feel yet close enough to Mpls/St Paul. We were looking at Orono/Minnetonka areas too but we just loved the feel of Delano, more slow paced yet you can still get to the cities. Plus you can get way more house for the $$.

You'll be going through a lot of metro traffic. Better off looking south of the city. Check Hastings, Red Wing, Cannon Falls, Northfield, Lonsdale or New Prague. Further East and West you go the more the terrain shifts from farmland to river bluffs. Wouldn't normally recommend southern areas but working in Burnsville takes advantage of not having to cross the river.
