Somehow this thread has turned into "tell me about long drives you've done starting in Minnesota."

Why is that such a bad thing? Thank you all for your inputs!

Well when we went to Nashville we didnt have any ipods or anything lol, ya it was boring, and no energy drinks either, lol. Driving from Wisconsin through Illinois down into Paducah, Kentucky was incredibly boring, Illinois outside of Chicago is boring, but Kentucky was Gorgeous and Tennessee was incredibly breathtaking and beautiful.

The next day we drove from Nashville to Orlando(Yuck I wouldn't go back, I prefer something way less touristy) and we stopped at a Dennys in Atlanta, and umm yeah, very run down and grungy, and that was right off the main highway or whatever we were on, lol. Huge culutre shock as well because we were one of the only white families in there, and myself as a 12 year old growing up in Annandale was not used to that.

Make sure your Ipod is loaded up with some good tunes and podcasts of your favorite talk-radio shows, etc. or this is going to be one long boring drive.
Yeah, I agree.

It's always a better drive with company, and especially with good tunes, talk show podcasts, etc.

I have done the drive from Mpls to Glendive, MT about 5 times and that usually takes me about 13 hours... Glendive and Billings are about 3 hours apart, so it's do-able.
