I know we are a month away from Mother's Day, but I am flying into MSP to visit my mom for Mother's Day and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to take her. I was thinking about going to brunch somewhere, but I am open to any suggestions.

Thank you.

What kind of food does your mother like?

Cafeteria in Uptown has a great brunch location; they have a rooftop deck with views of downtown. It might be warm enough to sit out there by then, and I think they might have heat lamps. Get there early for the best views.

The Nicollet Island Inn is more upscale, and is famous for its brunch. It's very popular, so you'll want to get reservations well in advance if you want to guarantee a spot on Mother's Day.

There's plenty of other wonderful locations, too. Where in the Twin Cities does she live? (assuming you don't want to trek too far away)

Thank you. I will check into those brunch locations.
I have another question. What is the most unique dining experience in the Twin Cities area? I am looking for something unique to MSP that you can't find in just about every town.

You might also look at the Mothers' Day brunch at Cafe Ena, at 46th and Grand. I think the most unique TC dining experience might be Al's Breakfast, though that may not be the type of thing you're looking for. If you are interested in the best fine dining experience here, that would be La Belle Vie.

Cafe Maude at 5411 Penn Ave S, would be perfect. But I'd guess everybody else will also be bringing their mother there, so book a reservation.

Thank you for the suggestions. Is Al's Breakfast the place that they always show on the Travel Channel and Food Network? It sounds familiar.
She lives in Apple Valley, but she is looking to explore, so I am trying to find an area a place she would most likely never go to on her own and bonus points if it isn't a chain.

It is probably full already but check out the brunch at St. Olaf in Northfield. They have amazing food, and even better desserts . St. Olaf College | Northfield, Minnesota, USA

Another idea would be to drive out to Stillwater and treat her to the brunch at the Lowell Inn. You could walk around downtown when you are done, take a trolley ride around town even.
