The OP also asked about property taxes later on...

Actually, I don't see anything here that is off topic. Property taxes are important part of the decision to buy in a neighbourhood. It is pretty common for threads to veer in different directions and as GG said, the OP DID ask about property taxes.

If you will reread my post, I did not say that property taxes or the other topics were not relevant to buying a home. I too, think that is very important. And I did see where the OP asked questions about taxes later on. What I RESPECTFULLY asked for were simply more answers regarding the NEW NEIGHBORHOODS which was what the OP originally asked for because I am in the research mode. Nothing more, nothing less. I thought I asked very nicely without animosity but obviously it wasn't taken that way. And yes, you are correct, threads do veer in different directions which is very frustrating because then you have to do search after search finding answers for the original posts/questions.

I very much appreciate this forum and have rec'd valuable information. Thank you.

The problem is, right now there aren't that many 'new construction' neighbourhoods. New home builds pretty much halted with the economic woes. A whole downtown shopping area was planned for Apple Valley that pretty much ceased because of the downturn.

In the southeast, Rosemount, Eagan and Lakeville are pretty much it or in SW, Eden Prairie, Chaska, Chanhanssen. She specifically asked about SD 196 and 197 which are Rosemount/Eagan and Lakeville among others.

I don't think you can expect a full and complete 'one-stop' answer from one thread. There are many threads discussing neighbourhoods, so you're going to have to search the forum anyway.
