Just came back from a week's trip and gotta say it treated me well. Had been blessed with good weather and got to see a lot.

Day 1: Rented the NiceRide bikes and ventured through the chain of lakes ending up in Sculpture Garden to check out the spoon.

Day 2: Strolled through Nicolet Mall ending the night near Target Field

Day 3: Explored St Paul's attractions like St Paul's Cathedral, State Capitol and Grand Ave.

Day 4: Hit up Minnehaha Park to check out the fall then in the other direction to St. Anthony's Falls atop Guthrie Theater and through the Mill Ruins Park.

Day 5: Rented a kayak in Lake Calhoon ending the night in Calhoun Sq.

What strikes me most is the vibrancy of the city. Some areas such as downtown are as thriving as the busiest areas in Boston. I gotta say the layout near Target Field is better planned than what we have here in Fenway Park where the stadium is cut off by a major highway. One other thing I wished we had here is the skyways - it gets as cold around here but the goddamn Bostoners are such sticklers in their old ways despite having the paragons of technology at our backyards. Its sad, we don't have as many roofdeck and patio restaurants. Patio heaters and electronic dartboards don't exist here as well. Either way it is still home to me which is why I always see its shortcomings.

Glad you enjoyed your visit and thanks for sharing your experience! The skyways are particularly useful in winter when you can walk through most of the downtown without need of a coat. However, our street-life vitality definitely suffers due to our having a split level downtown.

Boston is an incredible city--I could only wish our downtown rivaled Boston's regarding vibrancy!

Glad you enjoyed it. I wouldn't live anywhere else, despite being the coldest in the lower 48.

I have to take issue with Boston being as cold as it is here in the Winter. If you've ever been here in mid February you will know what I am talking about. Go just a bit farther north and it gets positively brutal.
