If you're as far south as 107th, I wouldn't worry. That's average middle-class territory.

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. It's pretty much the same tune in all the near suburbs isn't it? I know Hopkins, St Louis Park, Golden Valley...all have sketchy areas of section-8 apartments built by the highways. I think it's just the state's way of ensuring we don't end up with massive, Cabrini Green style "projects" in the inner-city, instead they spread them out so each suburb gets a share & it helps ensure the apartments themselves never take on a life of their own like in some other/bigger city's.

I think southeast Bloomington (south of 98th or Old Shakopee) is much like west Bloomington....nice, quiet neighborhoods, hilly/windy roads, larger lots. The closer to the river and nature preserve, the more expensive. I love the area.

I live near the valley view middle school area and my house was built in the 60s, most homes were built in the 50s, my home has two living rooms and 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms and downstairs we have a laundry room and a family room. Out side we have a deck and a big garage with a big yard. I love the east side. Nice area , the only crime is at moa and moa area. Kennedy high school had less fights last year than Jefferson did.:-)

I have to be careful with my dog or else he might get attack, like in edina and St Louis park. Poor dogs.
