Who don't you trust, your aunt or the government? No need to worry about the government on this one. I've received my tax refund via direct deposit more than once and have never had any issues.

How did she "do" your taxes, with Turbo Tax or something? Given that it is the 12th, highly unlikely that you can change it now. I would just be over at her house on the 14th and take her to her bank and withdraw the money.

Q: If you don't Trust her why would you let her 1. Do your Taxes. 2. Direct the refund into her account and not yours?

Check the IRS website on today/monday to see if the refund will be made on 14th, then head on over then to get your money before she gets a chance to spend it.

Do you have a gun or other weapon? You could hold your aunt ransom for the money, and if she doesn't pay you by the 14th you could.......well, you can connect the dots.

Is this money YOURS or are you a dependent and your aunt received a child tax credit or something else on your behalf and you think it belongs to you?

Go visit in her person and ask her for a check that you will promise to hold on to until you hear that the refund has been received. Be sure to thank her for doing the taxes for you and give her some sort of gift (bottle of wine, something she likes, flowers).

If you don't have itemized deductions, the 1040EZ is extremely easy. Don't be scared of doing them yourself just because so many other people are.

That's probably a better idea than my ransom proposition...

Well you sort of pissed your pants on this one. 1040EZ is super simple to file. Next time do it yourself and save yourself the drama. Maybe you find out if your Aunt is evil today. My guess probably not. She prolly just realize you are a lazy and help you cause she is nice.
