Hello. There is a chance that my job will be transferred from Washington DC to St. Paul, MN. I'm used to living in a major city. I'm in my mid-20s, single, and want to be near the action. I'm looking for a 2 bd. + 1 bath apartment (rent + utilities under $1500).

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd prefer not to be in the suburbs. I love the hustle and bustle of a city and love being able to walk to stores, restaurants, and bars.

Thanks!

You are going to have to decide between St. Paul Or Minneapolis. If you like dance clubs I would suggest Minneapolis. If you like pubs or bars with a sports theme I would lean toward St.Paul. You can afford to live downtown St. Paul or Grand Avenue. I would visit both spots to help you decide.

Hi -I'm relocating from Alexandria, VA to the Twin Cities area next month. I'm early 30s, single, and looking for a similar type of neighborhood. Headed there for a househunting trip in a couple of weeks. Maybe we can compare notes?

In St Paul, your best bet would be Grand Ave. I would definitely look there first. I would also take a look at Lowertown, even though it's a little quieter. If you find that neither is your thing, there are a variety of neighborhoods in Minneapolis that may fit the bill (Downtown, Loring Park, Uptown, etc).

Minneapolis: Uptown and Downtown
Saint Paul: Highland/Grand/Summit/Selby anywhere in that area.

You should be able to find a decent 2br for that price or less just about anywhere.
