After Sunday's storm, I woke up Monday morning to find a good amount of ants crawling around my kitchen... yuck.

Not sure if the rain encouraged them to find harbor in my home temporarily, but obviously I wasn't very excited to see them in any event.

I'm curious what kind of bug problems you have/had and how you took care of them or how you maintain them in MN?

Wasps, ants, and centipedes seem like the nuisances here.

Every once in a while we get ants if something gets spilled and doesn't get cleaned up. I spray around the doorways with BugMax 360 and that keeps them out. You can buy it at the hardware stores, etc. It's in a red spray bottle. I also use it in the fall when the Asian beetles and Boxelder bugs show up and that keeps them at bay as well. Other than that, an occasional fly that gets in through an open door.

I have always used this Terro Liquid stuff on the few rare occasions that I have found ants in the house. You will see more ants for a day or two because they love to eat it, but then they will all disappear.

Thats the stuff I usually use and am currently using for my problem.

Works very well! Just wish I didn't have them enter in the first place.

I would dust around all of the outside walls of your house with one of the powders.

Now how long does any of the dusts/sprays/repellents last for?

And does rain wash this stuff away?

The Terro site says waterproof and good for 8 months on the ant dust.

We noticed more ants in the home this past rainy month as well. I'm sure the saturated ground is forcing them to seek dry ground. We have been using the Terro ant killer. The are not focused just in the kitchen this year (where you forget to wipe up something sweat).

just spray Kerosene near the window or outside wall. Ants do not stand its smell and dies immediately and wouldn't dare to take that route to your kitchen or room.
