Hi All,

We are moving to Minneapolis. My wife will move ahead of me because she has to start a new job by the end of the month. We're searching for short-term accommodations that would tide her over while we complete the move and go house- hunting. We don't want to sign a year lease and hotels are expensive.

I would be grateful if someone could suggest resources or even a specific property that we might be interested in renting short-term. She is a professional woman in her mid-50s, so there would be no counterfeiting or noisy late night parties or Hell's Angels Scrabble Tournaments. Thank you in advance.

Most rental places I've come across are open to month-to-month options, but usually want an extra $20 or so per month for it. I like padmapper.com for rental searching. We can offer more neighborhood suggestions etc. if you give us more information about what kind of place you and your wife would be looking for.

I've done this before, when moving back to Houston (yuck)- check Craigslist. It can sound intimidating at first, but I was blessed to find kind people who allowed me to stay month-to-month until I found a permanent place. (That said, in no relevance, I'm getting out of this sauna! Off to a lovely, cold place ). Craigslist can work, just pray for safety. <3 Good luck! God bless!
