Pot meet kettle. You want us to believe banning guns is the obvious solution & then accuse others of attempting to reduce the complexity of the issue to the level a child could understand? Meanwhile you refuse to even consider that the problem could be our society, despite all the hard evidence & data?

False. I never said that. There is a lot of putting words into people's mouths on this site and it needs to end. Notwithstanding knke0204's hypersalivating nonsense, I believe that we do have a violence problem in our society. There is no doubt about that. And we should have a conversation about the roots of that problem and possible solutions. But that does not diminish the role that guns play in this violence.

Also, for the record, I never said a damn thing about Michael Moore and don't particularly care for him. So I'm not sure where that little nugget of BS came from.

So let's go ahead & have that conversation. This is the perfect time & place. First let's identify where the vast majority of gun violence occurs. Do you think it's in rural areas, suburbs or inner-cites? Who commits that crime, the wealthy, the middle class or the poor? College educated, High School educated or non-graduates? If we can identify who, what, where, why, when, then we can identify those most likely to commit gun violence & maybe create a plan of action to head them off & to change the core issues that lead them down this path.

I say start by disarming and de-car-ing all the tough-guy, road-raging, crew-cut-wearing, right wing nut-jobs for starters....they're easy to spot.

As I said in my last post there's no way a guy with 4-5 previous road rage incidents should have been given a conceal/carry permit. I'm absolutely in favor of profiling likely offenders & restricting their access to guns, much less conceal/carry permits.

If guns were illegal, what would that knife weilding psycho in Richfield have done? Ironically he wound up being fatally wounded by a firearm by police

Maybe we should restrict access to knives... and silverware... like the UK. Then nobody will be stabbed.

When I was 15, I would have loved to buy silverware. I never thought to do it, but for me, it would be a matter of having something nice.

Aside from that, this is something else not being considered. Banning sales of silverware to minors won't solve the problem. Kids can just take knives from home.
