Hi All , I am new here so forgive me if I make mistakes. Just point them out and I will try to fix them. Hubby is getting a job in Minnesota and I am wondering if anyone could recommend places to live within 30 minutes or so of Minneapolis. also are there pitfalls I should watch for such as rental places, taxes, etc. any help would be greatfully appreciated

Welcome to the board and to Minnesota!

In order to provide you with the best answers to your questions, it would help if you could provide us with more details regarding your situation. For example, what is your budget? Are you looking to live in a suburban, urban, or rural environment? Are schools a factor? If you or your husband will be commuting to work, do you plan on driving or do you want access to public transportation? To narrow down your choices, I'd recommend trying to live in a community reasonably close to his/your place of employment if at all possible.

I would also verify that the job is IN Minneapolis and not one of the suburbs. Many companies list St. Paul or Minneapolis as their "address" but are actually in a suburb.

Yeh, actually if you feed the address into Google Maps, you'll find the ACTUAL location. And that can matter a lot.
