Get ready to move your cars. The 5" of snow we got has to be moved for traffic to get where it is going tomorrow. It is lame to be at the impound lot, retrieving your car and complaining. All Twin Citians need to have a parking plan if they park on the street. My "plan" is called a double garage.

Announcements out for Minneapolis, St. Paul and Bloomington so far. Our plan is "the garage" as well. Was just explaining how snow emergencies work to one of the kids' girl friends that is moving to St. Paul soon. Our plows have come and gone....so much for the snow day we were hoping for...

From WCCO-snow emergencies: Bloomington, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Crystal, Golden Valley, Hopkins, West St. Paul, Mendota Heights and St. Cloud

Also, no travel advised north and west of Alexandria to the ND border and almost the Canadian border. Highways 94, 10, 210 and many county roads in that area are closed.

Pleased to drive down the night plow route that goes by my house. No cars either side for as far as I can see. This time around, we're going to wake to decently plowed streets. Then we'll have to see how it goes over the next two days. Those are the days t hat seem to confuse people. Everybody knows to have their cars off night plow routes.

Probably a good thing. Last snow emergency the city/tow companies seemed to do a poor job in my neighborhood. Lots of cars just plowed around and it really didn't help the streets. Everywhere but SE Minneapolis seemed to be just fine, but not my area.

Drove through St Paul. Much better job than the first snow emergency.
