"Down on Skidrow" is amazing. It's all gone now, a ghost town. The city's better for it, but it's still kind of sad that it's gone. Funny how time changes culture too. Some of the things he did for those guys would now be considered criminal, but he obviously cared about those guys & in his won weird way took better care of them than anyone else was ever going to as long as they drank. I thought it was great that when they had to decide what to do with the 3,000 displaced drunks that a serious proposal to open a massive flop house, with coffee shops & bars was introduced. IT made me think of "Hamsterdam" if any of you watch 'The Wire'.
