I'm looking for inexpensive, reliable auto repair in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis. Specifically, it's a big job (labor intensive), I need a blend door fixed and they have to take my entire dash off. I can't spend the $1,000+ they want at the dealerships. They estimate it to be a 6-7 hr. job (the part is only $100). I need an hourly rate estimate of a good reputable auto repair place.

I'm driving 30 miles to work with no heat and it's almost November in MN!

Thanks for anyone's help.

I sent you a direct message for a place that I have used. From your post I am gathering that it is a body repair vs a mechanical repair. If it is more of a mechanical repair I have another shop that it great that I can send you information for.

From the sound of your post, I am guessing you own a Ford Taurus. That job is labor intensive. There are ways to cheat this repair on some cars, simply drill a hole in the heater box and pry the heater door open. I live in burnsville and can do a quick fix like this for you, however, I am never on this site. If you would like more info, contact me at Cybertoothedkat@yahoo.com...I am a ASE certified mechanic.
