Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! We are getting more excited for the weekend (and getting out of work Friday).

If it helps, we are more into the chill and relaxed bars. I would rather hear everyone around me, with some music in the background, than blankly staring and not able to hear. I think we will be hitting up the Loon Cafe , sounds our speed and fun. We will be checking out the riverfront for sure. As fun as the bandshell sounds, we have tickets to all the games for the weekend, unfortunately those times conflict. Oh well, can't do everything - just will have to come back.

Thank you, again!

If you want a place nearby, catch the bus (or walk or cab) across the river to the St. Anthony Main area. It's more laid back than downtown bars with a good mix of just-out-of-college, young professionals, and older people all mixed together. I'm a fan of the Bulldog NE (though it can be a bit loud), Whitey's (right across the street from the Bulldog...check them both out! Whitey's is a bit more laid back/quieter), New Bohemia (only beer, but lots of options), and Nye's (a Minneapolis staple in its own right...Esquire named it the number one bar in America...a retro piano-bar vibe with the strangest mix of people).

Quick update. Had a great time in Minneapolis, very cool city. Couldn't believe how incredibly clean it is, outstanding job.

Target Field is a great stadium. Loved how roomy the concourse are and the variety of food/drinks. Awesome skyline view on the third base line.

Went to Matt's bar for their Jucy Lucy (very good), my favorite bar we stopped at was the Loon Cafe. Really cool place and amazing chili.

Thank you for all the suggestions, everyone had a great time.

Glad you enjoyed Minneapolis! Hopefully you'll come back to visit again (there's still a lot you probably didn't get to explore)!
