Just moved to the Twin Cities from Pittsburgh and so far we have been so disappointed with our dining experiences, which have been top rated places. We are huge foodies open to new things. Finding our experiences thus far have been ordinary and bland.
Any suggestions on where true foodies would enjoy?

What places did you find bland and disappointing and what kind of places are you looking for?

Not knowing what type of places you're interested in, some suggestions, in no particular order:

Bar La Grassa
Brasa
Nye's
Bachelor Farmer
Burch

Don't think Lowertown has any top rated restaurants. Instead, try:

112 Eatery
Bar La Grassa,
Bachelor's Farmer
Butcher and the Boar
The Strip Club
Sea Change
Restaurant Alma
Sanctuary
Borough
Cafe Lurcat

Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to give advice without knowing what kinds of restaurants the OP likes, and which ones they've been to and didn't like. The restaurants listed above are popular and well-regarded, but that doesn't mean the OP will like them.

Read The Heavy Table. That's where finicky foodies get their directions.

Great suggestion! I'd never been to that site.
