Unless you're a rich, white, heterosexual man, then lots of 'nice' Minnesota females want to have your babies.

Liberalism and lunatic fringe feminism destroyed these cities. 40 and 50 years ago they were a nice place to live.
Used to be you could shake your bone club at them modern-day contriptions without them uppity women-folks getting all up in yer grill!

Minneapolis schools to make suspending children of color more difficult | Star Tribune

If you are a white kid, no need to review a suspension. "Children of color", (love that term), all get the extra step of review a by the superintendent.

Man, I totally get what you mean. When I lived in Minneapolis, there was so much hatred for us WASPs it was almost terrifying. For example, there was this one time where I was shopping inside the Target on Lake Street, and because I couldn't find the grocery aisle, I asked one of the employees where it was. She turned to me and screamed "FIND IT YOURSELF, PRIVILEGED CRACKER" before punching me in the neck and kicking my knees out from under me. I tried to go to the Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment but they wouldn't let me in because I wasn't gay enough.

In retrospect, I probably should've gone to the Coon Rapids Target instead.

For those of you unfamiliar with misogynist online lingo, a 'white knight' is any male who dares to take the side of a female poster when issues of feminism, gender equality, and the like are being discussed. This intellectually lazy nonsense is a move to hand-wave away any dissenting view without actually addressing it.

In the zero-sum mindset of the misogynist, the only conceivable reason to agree with a woman on such topics is the ulterior motive of trying to chivalrously curry favor with her. It does not occur to them that a male might actually agree with a woman on such a topic due to logic or general principles of equality. Such motives are baffling to them.

Of course, in this particular exchange there is no explicitly female poster to defend, but rather a discussion of women in general forty years back in time, so the entire 'white knight' assertion, even on its own dubious terms, is inapplicable - but then, logical coherence really isn't to be expected by those who are foot-stamping angry at the steady erosion of institutionalized preferences for men over women.

What, is it about ethics in game journalism too?

Um, maybe in the cities themselves. Not out in the suburbs so much.

And after all, can't we get any credit for Mary Tyler Moore here?
I do hope that was sarcasm. Because the Mary Tyler Moor show is, to put it bluntly, more than a little sexist. For the times now, that is.

A little? Ya think?

I was back there for 11 months in 2012 and no, I didn't think it had gotten a whole lot more liberal in the burbs since I lived there in the 70s. Although, I will admit, my 84 year old mother and her sister were invited to attend a gay wedding, which they did.

And I will also admit that a lot of ideas of being something else besides a mama were because of the music of the 70s, which I was only able to hear because it was played on the old KQRS, which was one of the country's 10 ten FM stations at the time. And how well I remember my dad throwing my radio against the wall and breaking it because "of that trashy music". And yes, for a long time at Coon Rapids Junior and Senior High, girls could wear only dresses or skirts, although they did change that later to "dress pants only", while we were all watching Room 222 where the students could wear jeans and actually go outside during lunch. I thought that was all Hollywood until I ended up at a California senior high school and they really could go outside for lunch - and wear jeans.

And the only thing I had against the Coon Rapids Target was that I couldn't find Ken's Dressing in 1000 Island flavor. I have no idea why. I think I ended up going to some Rainbow store or something to finally get it.

OK, so maybe the burbs aren't so conservative anymore. Can we say they are provincial?
