I get a sense that the TC keep moving further westward. What is the general consensus about this. Obviously this is happening, but this is becoming more pronounced.

It really kind of reminds me of the way Dallas keeps moving northward-if any of you are familiar with that area. For us, we are heading past EP into Chanhanssen and into Victoria, etc. Also in the northwest, Maple grove and all areas in between.

I would be interested in any thoughts on this. What would our city look like in 10 years? Mostly moving out west and growth in that direction.

I'd say north and east more than west.

If you wrote this 10 - 15 years ago, I'd say NW (Rogers, Maple Grove, Ramsey), probably followed by SW (Savage, Shakopee, Chaska, Victoria). But, the outward movement has slowed drastically, and there's been a significant increase in housing development in the central cities and inner ring suburbs.

East,
Woodbury developed a lot eastward in the past decade and gained 10,000 people in 5 years.

Actually the metro is expanding in all directions. Chaska is booming, Woodbury is growing, Maple Grove, etc. is also growing and to the south you see a lot of development in Hastings, Farmington, Lakeville, etc.

The Census thinks most of southern Minnesota is now part of the "Twin Cities"

As a future resident of Hastings, I like to hear this!

Of course! They're referring to the twin cities of "MSP" and Rochester.

Agreed. We see lots of building in Medina and Corcoran in the west, and there is a good amount of farm land being subdivided into 10 acre lots outside of Hudson and River Falls, WI.
