We used to go to Jerusalem's. Lately, my impression of that place is that it's getting rather run-down and doesn't feel so comfortable to me anymore. The food is still tasty, but I believe portions have shrunk.

I know the restaurant biz is a tough trade, but I want to find some other venues that offer good food and reasonable prices, and a belly dancing show. I love the music, and the sparkly costumes are cute, too.

So, where have you seen BD recently, and how was the meal?

If you haven't seen BD, but know where some is happening, share that with us, too, please!

Mediterranean Cruise Club in Burnsville has Belly Dancing and very good food--very reasonable too. Either get there very early in the evening or come prepared to wait. They will put your name on a list but don't really take reservations and they are packed on weekends and most weeknights.

Ansari's Mediterranean Grill in Eagan has it as well. I think it is on Friday and Saturday nights. It's a good restaurant, though I have not been there to watch the dancing.

Beirut in West St. Paul has it on Friday and Saturday nights. Best Lebanese food in the cities.

Agree. Great food. And Cassandra dances there sometimes. She has taught a lot of local dancers.

Anyone ever eat bad Middle Eastern food in the Metro? I haven't been everywhere, but so far in 40 years I can't name a place that did it badly.

Frankly, after eating dinner the last thing I'm in the mood for is to get up and belly dance in front of a roomful of strangers.

Try Turkey or Egypt if you are looking for the state of the art in belly dancing.

I second (third? fourth?) Beiruit in West St. Paul. Fantastic food! I tried it for the first time last week, and I will absolutely be back. I haven't seen the belly dancing yet, but if it's even half as good as the food it must be one h*ll of a show!
