I'm a Mountain Dew fan who is stuck in Atlanta (where VERY few restaurants serve Pepsi products). Poop. It's rarer than college hockey players down here...

You put the differences between ATL and MPLS-St.Paul really well. Sounds like MPLS is progressive in many ways, although I should go there myself to see.
Minnesota is weird politically. Conservative and liberal at the same time, the state where Democrats are known as "DFL'ers", and of the folks who elected Jesse for Governor. And they were serious about it!

(Or at least I was, anyway. Yes, I voted for Jesse, and I don't regret the act one bit ).

What do you know about nightlife in MPLS and the differences between nightlife there and in ATL?
The Coronet Club is entertaining and Main Stage is boring, but Mardi Gras is okay. Neither one holds a candle to Sheik's, though, and Deja Vu...

(I had my bachelor party at the latter... I still remember it vividly, and fondly. Parts of it VERY fondly. )

Oh, and the Mall of America (aka "Hugedale") can beat up any *two* malls in Georgia, even that one mall we saw in Lawrenceville with Medieval Times living in it. Now *that* would be a cool addition to the MoA. Place it on the old Met Stadium site, dress the knights in green, and give them Christian Bros sticks instead of lances. Return of the North Stars!!

Just curious where else you've lived that you think Minnesota is so inexpensive. It's probably middle of the pack, but there are definitely places with lower taxes and certain grocery prices. Also note that I didn't say this was a bad thing, necessarily.
