Hello I am moving to Minneapolis by the TCF Stadium area, I am asking what are some good places to eat in the area and things to do. I just have a bike and myself no car, I know I can go to Timberwolves or Vikings games but what else would be some fun things to do in that area?

I would check out Urban Spoon for restaurant reviews and Thrify Hipster for happy hour specials.

The neighborhoods you should sort by are: Dinkytown, Northeast, and University & Cedar Riverside

There are many great places to eat in each. I'll just name one for each. Dinkytown - Kafe 421 (affordable Italian), Northeast - Brasa Grille (amazing rotisserie chicken/affordable comfort food), Cedar Riverside - Town Hall Brewery (bar food, cool microbrew list, good burgers).

Other places of interest off the top of my head: Varsity Theater (Dinkytown), Several museums on campus (Bell Museum, Weisman Museum), River Parkway (great biking), Old Main Street in NE Mpls (go and people watch and see oldest existing building in Minneapolis), Mill City museum and ruins (NE Mpls), Guthrie Theater (downtown)

If you are unfamiliar with the Twin Cities region, check out TripAdvisor and just look at the top rated Things to Do, that will give you a good idea too.

I agree, Obento Ya is great. Other good Asian restaurants in biking or busing distance include Masu (sushi and robata) on East Hennepin and University; Shuang Cheng (Chinese) in Dinkytown; Sen Yai Sen Lek (Thai) on Central Avenue in Northeast; Gorkha Palace (Indian/Thai/Tibetan) on University and 1st St. NE; and Chindian (Indian and Thai) on E. Hennepin and 15th Ave. SE.

Lots of bars in Dinkytown, easy access to public transit along 13th ave as well.

The Mill City museum and the mill ruins are actually in downtown; they're right by the Guthrie.

As far as the bars in Dinkytown go, they mostly draw the college crowd (which makes sense). Whether that is a pro or a con varies from person to person.

Plenty to do and well-located for bus routes, but you will be surrounded by undergrads, for better or worse.
