Hi,
I am a single woman looking to purchase a home in minneapolis. I have looked in the victory area and today found a home I really like in the bryant neighborhood. 41xxx 3rd ave s. Safe to walk my dogs in the evening?
Safe to walk to the local coffee shop? Etc..

The area has a little bit of a rundown feel to it, but I believe it's safe. Check the stats here.

The that block is on the edge of a bad area but it should be ok. I would not go north past 40th though especially walking alone at night. North from 40th to about 25th on that street is pretty sketchy. The further south you go, the better it gets. 42nd and especially after 46th.

I can't recall any coffee shops in that neighborhood offhand. Probably the closest on would be Anodyne on 43rd and Nicollet which is walkable but would be kind of far in the winter.

I don't think 5 1/2 blocks is far at all, even in winter.
