I would recommend also visiting Mankato's Olive Garden when the Minnesota Vikings have their training camp there to make it really special!

Their major claim to fame over those supposedly more famous places is being very close to where the Grumpy Old Men movies starring Walter Matthaw and Jack Lemmon were filmed (most of it in nearby Wabasha). None of those other places (New Zealand, the Hawaii locales, etc) can boast that!

There are tunnels built into the floors, catwalks outside that lead to an airplane, school bus and other structures. It was designed by the art students at Wash U in St. Louis! She will have more fun if she has a friend along .

I will be visiting a friend in Sacramento this weekend and we will be touring the Delta region (small towns and waterways/tributaries of the Sacramento River) on Saturday and visiting some friends in the East Bay Area on Sunday. High temps have been warmer than usual for this time of year (around 70 instead of in the 50's).

In May I will attend my nephew's graduation from Arizona State Univ in Tempe.

There is nothing else planned for the time being. The Monterey Peninsula is in my backyard (approx 20 miles) and I will probably also travel further down the Central Coast later this year to places like San Luis Obispo/Morro Bay/Pismo Beach at some point.

In regards to your nephews graduation... dress as cool as possible!! It's hotter than blazes waiting for pictures and the like after the graduation. You have to wait a while to get into the arena too. I've been to a number of
ASU graduations and I'm always drenched in sweat... reason #8978 I can't wait to move back to Minnesota. Not trying to be a debbie downer just wish I would of known this the first time I went. The nights and mornings during that time though are beautiful!!

Y'all have some good ideas! The ball of twine?! I've yet to know of that one, maybe it's worth checking out...

As for us;
January-Seattle (family)
February- MINNESOTA!!!!!! (Family/anniversary)
March- Move to Minnesota (hopefully)?! Road trip across the country
May-Chicago (family graduation)/Lafayette, Indiana
June- Maybe Mackinac Island...
Novemeber- Maybe Atlanta to visit B.I.L.
Decemeber- probably Seattle.

Can you tell we visit our family a lot? That's what happens when you move out of state...

One of the ceremonies is in the evening and the other in the morning. At least it won't be in the afternoon. Thanks for the info, though. It can get very hot there. Reason #8978....LOL! Good luck on your planned move back to Minnesota.

Greatly appreciated!

The actual neighborhood they used for their houses was in East side St. Paul, a couple blocks south of Lake Phalen.

I will probably try and visit a few more countries. 3-5 new ones per year is the goal, but it all depends on school and if I get the job I'm searching for.
