I would be completely comfortable walking that stretch of road at night, but I don't make a habit of walking outside after 10pm or before 6am even where I live. Urban safety precautions are always necessary.

There was an armed robbery at the Radio Shack in broad daylight last year. There was a mugging a block away from frozen yogurt place in the Village an early morning a couple years ago. These are rare situations, but we still do live in a densely populated city, not an outlying suburb.

Either way, the stretch of road you're asking about is not sketchy or run down at all. In fact, I find that the folks that own the houses on that stretch take great pride in their yards and curb appeal. There are street lights, so its well lit at night.

Just wanted to thank you all for your replies. I think we are going to end up a bit further north in Highland, but it's good to know all of this in case we end up at the original spot instead.

Where abouts? Hopefully you'll still be close to the Village. It was the biggest selling point for us when we bought our house here.
