I work in healthcare administration and travel frequently. I am considering a healthcare director assignment in Hopkins. My budget will be less than $1600 a month for accommodations (potentially more if needed). I am searching for furnished, short stay rentals, which do not require lengthy rental term agreements. My preference is to be within 20 minutes of my work assignment and to have an actual living space, as opposed to a hotel room. While I don't mind an efficiency style apartment, I would like a space to prepare meals and designate a work station. Like everyone else, I enjoy walkable communities with local shops and points of interest.

Does anyone have recommendation for a property that offers this flexibility?
Any suggestions for communities which will meet my needs, so I can expand my search area?

I have never visited Minneapolis, but I have heard great things. I am excited to explore the area. Of course, I will be visiting before I accept the position. Hopefully, some of the informed residents here will provide some great starting points for my search. I am also not opposed to hearing "must see" and "must do" attractions. Thanks!

Search Craigslist, Hopkins has a downtown area which almost all suburbs in the Twin Cities lack.

If you're looking for short term rentals (especially furnished), I'd also add airbnb.com and vrbo.com to your search, in addition to Craigslist.
