Eat at Pizza Nea or Punch and watch the fireworks directly from the bridge.

Finally, where is the best place to lay down the blanket and watch the fire works? Is it the Stone Bridge or should we stay in Hennepin Bluffs Park or should we cross the bridge and find a grassy area on the other side?

Thank you again to everyone for helping us plan a great Minnesota visit.
What type of food do you and your family enjoy?

I live a few blocks away from the Stone Arch Bridge (on the opposite side from downtown) near Father Hennepin Bluffs Park and so I always go down to Main Street and watch from there (the road is closed and you are able to see above the tree line there). I'm sure that the Stone Arch Bridge is a fantastic place to watch them, but I have never been successful in getting on the bridge. It's always absolutely jam packed, so we stick with somewhere in or near the park.

I'll second Pizza Nea or Punch (both on East Hennepin near University Ave). I'll also add The Old Spaghetti Warehouse (at Washington and ?? Portland), which is great for kids.
