I'm pretty sure it isn't a serious question. There is no city in the country and possibly the world where a single, healthy 30 year old with no children making over $100K, who cooks his own meals and isn't into material possessions (this is key) can't live comfortably in the suburbs. And the OP surely knows it.

The only way I could see it remotely being an issue is if the OP had really massive student loans. But even that would be a stretch.

You will be fine outside of the most expensive areas of the metro (Minnetonka and Edina mostly) - even then, you will have high standard of living.

I will state that unless you have a very in-demand career, you're unlikely to earn $100,000+ from most positions around here unless you are reaching the upper echelons of your career or are in with a fortune 500 company around the metro.

While that certainly is a good salary, its not so uncommon to find engineering and tech jobs around here that could hit $100k for someone with ~10 yrs experience, or an equivalent education/experience mix. It doesn't hurt that there are several Fortune 500 companies around.

At least a couple of my close friends are making well over that amount at that age. One's an engineer and the other in Accounting, and both are very smart and very driven people who seemingly can never find enough things to do to fill up their day.

It's definitely possible!

Yes, it is definitely possible albeit rather uncommon. I work for a F500 company in the eastern part of the metro and actually took a 50% pay cut to join full-time (I worked as a consultant for them prior to that).
